Role Description
The Programme Associate – Youth Dialogue, Civic Education & Governance will lead TEDA’s work on youth participation, civic awareness, community dialogue, policy engagement, and accountable governance. The role will create platforms through which young people can meaningfully participate in discussions and decisions affecting their communities.
Key Deliverables & Responsibilities
- Forum Conceptualization: Develop concept notes, thematic frameworks, discussion guides, and intellectual blueprints for the Teso Youth Forum and other TEDA dialogue platforms.
- Civic Education: Design digital and community-based civic education campaigns that improve young people’s understanding of their constitutional rights, responsibilities, democratic processes, and local government systems.
- Public Accountability Hubs: Establish community dialogue platforms connecting youth, local government officials, cultural leaders, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Youth Policy Engagement: Facilitate structured youth participation in policy discussions at district, regional, and national levels.
- Policy Papers: Synthesize recommendations and resolutions from youth forums into policy briefs, communiqués, position papers, and advocacy recommendations for relevant decision-makers.
- Research & Documentation: Identify emerging governance issues affecting young people and support evidence-based advocacy and policy engagement.
- GENERAL EXPECTATIONS FOR ALL PROGRAMME ASSOCIATES
All Programme Associates are expected to:
- Develop annual and quarterly activity plans for their respective thematic areas.
- Identify strategic partners and opportunities for collaboration.
- Contribute to concept notes, proposals, fundraising initiatives, and project development.
- Coordinate implementation of approved activities within their thematic areas.
- Maintain proper documentation of activities, beneficiaries, partnerships, and results.
- Contribute to TEDA’s monitoring, evaluation, accountability, learning, and reporting systems.
- Produce regular progress reports highlighting achievements, challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations.
- Represent TEDA professionally when engaging partners, communities, institutions, and other stakeholders.
- Promote safeguarding, accountability, inclusion, and ethical standards in all TEDA activities.
- Work collaboratively with other Programme Associates, District Representatives, Brand Ambassadors, and TEDA leadership.
Important: These are volunteer positions. TEDA is looking for individuals who are passionate about community transformation, willing to contribute their expertise, and committed to delivering measurable results.
