Climate change is one of the greatest threats to sustainable development in Eastern Uganda. Across Teso and Bukedi, increasingly frequent floods, prolonged dry spells, rising temperatures, land degradation, and environmental loss continue to undermine livelihoods, threaten food security, increase disease outbreaks, disrupt children’s education, and deepen poverty among vulnerable communities.
TEDA advances locally led climate solutions that strengthen community resilience while protecting ecosystems and creating sustainable opportunities for young people. We integrate climate action with agriculture, health, education, livelihoods, and environmental stewardship to help communities adapt, recover, and thrive.
