Welcome to TEDA
I founded this organization because of what I witnessed in our communities: a 12-year-old girl forced into marriage, a 13-year-old child forced to become a mother, and young girls using rags because they cannot afford sanitary pads. I saw the boundless potential of our young people being shattered before they even had a chance to realize it.
At the same time, our communities continue to face a severe climate crisis. Rising temperatures and flooding are contributing to food insecurity and waterborne diseases. Storms are destroying schools, leaving families homeless, and taking the lives of our children. Meanwhile, young people who are Not in Education, Employment, or Training (NEET) are being left behind in deepening poverty.
TEDA is not an association for play. We are an organization born out of urgent necessity.
As Scripture reminds us:
“Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” Psalm 82:3–4
My message to the public is simple:
Let impact lead our recognition.
Find happiness in giving. As the Lord Jesus said: “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35
Lead with purpose. If God has given you the opportunity to lead, lead with purpose. If He has blessed you with wealth and resources, use them to support initiatives that create real and lasting impact in vulnerable communities.
Support this initiative. Support TEDA for the sake of the young people, families, and communities of the Bukedi and Teso sub-regions.
As Fraide Solomon, I am fully committed to these two regions. I believe that together, through service, compassion, leadership, and collective action, we can fight poverty, protect vulnerable communities, unlock the potential of our young people, and restore hope where it has been lost.
