Role Description
The Programme Associate – Skill Development & TVET will lead TEDA’s efforts to promote youth employability, vocational skills, entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic self-reliance. The role will focus on connecting young people to practical skills, training institutions, markets, business opportunities, and financing.
Key Deliverables & Responsibilities
- Curriculum & Incubation: Develop frameworks for practical and market-oriented short-course training programs, including tailoring, agribusiness, soap making, digital skills, and other relevant vocational areas.
- TVET Institutional Alliances: Build strategic partnerships with technical and vocational institutions across Teso, Bukedi, and other target areas to support training, certification, mentorship, and skills development.
- TEDA Youth Fund Alignment: Support trained youth to develop viable business models, business plans, and investment proposals for potential access to the TEDA Youth Fund.
- Market Linkages: Develop relationships with companies, businesses, cooperatives, markets, and value-chain actors to connect trained youth to employment, apprenticeships, markets, and supply opportunities.
- Entrepreneurship Development: Support youth entrepreneurs with business development, financial literacy, innovation, and enterprise management skills.
- Skills Needs Assessment: Identify emerging market and industry skills gaps to ensure TEDA training programs respond to real economic opportunities.
- GENERAL EXPECTATIONS FOR ALL PROGRAMME ASSOCIATES
All Programme Associates are expected to:
- Develop annual and quarterly activity plans for their respective thematic areas.
- Identify strategic partners and opportunities for collaboration.
- Contribute to concept notes, proposals, fundraising initiatives, and project development.
- Coordinate implementation of approved activities within their thematic areas.
- Maintain proper documentation of activities, beneficiaries, partnerships, and results.
- Contribute to TEDA’s monitoring, evaluation, accountability, learning, and reporting systems.
- Produce regular progress reports highlighting achievements, challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations.
- Represent TEDA professionally when engaging partners, communities, institutions, and other stakeholders.
- Promote safeguarding, accountability, inclusion, and ethical standards in all TEDA activities.
- Work collaboratively with other Programme Associates, District Representatives, Brand Ambassadors, and TEDA leadership.
Important: These are volunteer positions. TEDA is looking for individuals who are passionate about community transformation, willing to contribute their expertise, and committed to delivering measurable results.
